The studio turns into a battleground every Friday night at 9 PM. The Freestyle Box is the ultimate platform for the hungriest undiscovered lyricists, rappers, and artists to claim the crown on New Era Radio.
Each week, three new challengers step into the Box, dropping 60 seconds of raw, unadulterated bars over the official Beat of the Week. The catch? They have to shout out New Era Radio and prove they own the mic. Then, it’s up to the listeners. Voting stays open all weekend long to decide who becomes the reigning King of the Hill and who gets left in the dust.

Rules & Entry Criteria
What you need to qualify.
The Time Limit
Your freestyle must be 60 seconds or less. Anything longer will be automatically disqualified.
The New Era Shoutout
You must creatively incorporate New Era Radio, or the official station tagline, into your lyrics.
The Beat
You must use the official Beat of the Week provided by the station, downloadable at neweraradio.co.uk/box. Submissions on different beats will not be accepted.
Audio Quality
Audio must be clear and audible. No heavy background noise, wind distortion, or extremely low volumes. Accepted formats: .mp3 or .wav.
The Deadline
Submissions close every Wednesday at 11:59 PM. Any entries received after the deadline will be pushed to the following week’s pool.

Rights and Permissions
You guarantee that you are the sole creator and owner of the vocals submitted, and that your entry does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Broadcast & Media License
You grant New Era Radio a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to broadcast, stream, edit for time or censorship, and distribute your submission on-air and across all digital and social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and the station app.
Content Standards
While we embrace raw talent, submissions must comply with broadcasting regulations. New Era Radio reserves the right to bleep, edit, or reject submissions containing excessive hate speech, incitement of violence, or defamatory language.
The Voting Process
The weekly winner is determined by public vote combined with station DJ and producer input. All decisions made by New Era Radio regarding finalists and winners are final.
Prizing & Incentives
Prizes, including airplay or studio time, are non-transferable and hold no cash alternative. To claim the Hall of Fame grand prize, the artist must successfully win the public vote for 5 consecutive weeks.
60 Seconds Max
Keep your entry sharp, focused, and under one minute or it won’t qualify.
Shout Out New Era
Your freestyle must creatively include a New Era Radio mention or official tagline.
Vote for the Winner
Listeners vote all weekend while DJs and producers help decide the weekly champion.
